Support us
Supporting our work
There are two main ways you can support Harpenden Money Advice Centre: through financial support, or by volunteering your time and skills.
Donations
We are deeply grateful for the financial support we receive. Without it, we wouldn’t be able to offer free, confidential debt advice to people who need it most.
Our work is supported by generous donations from local churches and individuals.
We currently receive an annual grant from MMRG Limited, a Business Management Consultancy firm.
Every donation helps us continue to support people who are struggling with debt, anxiety, and uncertainty about the future.
Please consider making a donation — your support makes a real and lasting difference.
Become an adviser
Our advisers are trained volunteers who give their time to support people facing debt. If you are interested in becoming an adviser, we would love to hear from you.
“I support clients mainly with debt and budgeting issues. To use a cliché, my involvement with HMAC started as ‘a way of giving back’. God soon corrected that - I now feel immensely privileged to be used by Him to help clients with very different life experiences to me. The realisation that in most cases it could have happened to any of us is humbling.”
“It is wonderful to see clients who arrive feeling completely overwhelmed come to the realisation that they are able to manage and control their finances - it’s almost as though a huge weight is lifted.”
“I help clients with everything from personal budgeting to managing debts and benefit claims. Many of the people I work with are struggling with mental health issues and are at rock bottom when I first meet them. But together, we find a way through. It’s incredibly rewarding when clients not only feel more confident about money but also start reconnecting with their communities and enjoying life again.”
